ok, I,M not to sure about that, that,s a long time ago could be 56 any way what the difference? a buck one way or the other ? lol. H.B.

Actually it was not until 1962 when they made the first one.

However, you can go here http://www.remingtonsociety.com/rsa/questions/barrelcodes/?na=2 and find the month and year your's was made. Unless it's some special presentation model, a 1962 700 is not going to be worth any more than any other 700 in simular condition. I recently bought a 1968, 700 ADL in rought condition for $150 and it had $250 worth of Leopold 3x9 Rifleman Scope and mounts on it.

i sure what you have is 721 or 722 . i am not quite sure which was long action and which was short . hope this helps mike

Butch;
As long as you are in the mood for pricing things, I have a model 59- FN J.C Higgins which came with a Mauser action made in Begium. Super smooth with a Timney trigger I installed, along with an original Weaver 2x7.
Care to give me an opinion?

Thanks,
Joe

Well,

what is a in super good shape 1955 rem 700 w/weaver k-4 scope worth ? any thoughts on this? thanks .H.B.

depending on caliber its probably either a model 721 (long action)...30-06, 300 H&H etc., or a 722 (short action)...308, 300 savage, 257 roberts and others. Either one is a fine action and every bit as good as a 700 imho. Value, if a plain jane 721 or 722 perhaps 400-450 tops.
