I have a used Redding Competition seater in 6PPC USA. Does the seating stem have something like a clip to hold it in place, or is it held simply by friction??

It's threaded to adjust the seating depth. You can get different shapes from Redding, as I did for the 160gr FTX bullet for 30-30, or hone your own.

The seating stem its self, (the item that actually contacts the bullet), does have a small c-clip that keeps it from falling out the bottom. The top of this stem contacts the adjustable threaded plunger that ForneyRider was speaking of........jackie
