Rechambering 6PPC to 6BR question

My Nesika bolt will handle PPC or 308 bolt face, so I'm planning to have someone rechamber one of PPC barrels to 6BR for varminting. I believe my 6BR reamer is zero freebore and the PPC chambering was .050 or .060 freebore, and measuring my loaded the rounds from previous chamberings (each seated for a slight jam), it appears as though the PPC is about 1o or 20 thousandths longer. So I'm wondering if it would be an issue if I were to have it rechambered without cutting off any threads...given the possibility the BR reamer might be .020 shy of completely cleaning out the throat? I suppose I am thinking it would be simpler/cheaper to this way...

Thanks!

Just my opinion but I would want to move the shoulder ahead a bit and possibly cut a thread or two off, so tha when the chamber job is complete, you have a fresh throat area. I am going to do this to an old barrel off one of my PPC's to fit my Kodiak, and the barrel is off of a panda. Once the gunsmith has it set up in the lathe why not do the job completely instead of taking a chance that when done and back on the gun you may or may not have a problem with its accuracy!

Isn't the overall length of the BR 1.560.?

Yes.

In my case the issue is the freebore. Or overall length including freebore.

And I'm sure that's the best thing to do (take a couple threads off)...although the barrel hasn't had much use. But still, that would be the safest approach.

Thanks.
