Rebluing

I just sent a barrel off to Precision Bluing in New York. Previously, I had a new barrel for a 1885 model Browning blued by them and it turned out well. Those two are the only parts I've sent them to have blued and it was ready to be blued when I sent both of them. So, not any polish work or that kind of thing needed to be done. Turn around was fairly quick and certainly quick enough. I have bluing tanks, but did so little bluing that it wasn't worth while to do it and keep the chemicals current. It seems hard to find anyone to do any bluing anymore.

I've used Glenrock Bluing previously and they do a great job with VERY short turnaround if you send them prepped metalwork. Not sure if you want them to do the whole job but if they just need to degrease and dip you'll see it back at your door in a week or two as they run their tanks pretty much full time.

Local Plating sshop

One of my gunsmiths had one of my CM barrel done at a plating shop. You might check and see whats around your town.
