Anyone heard how the RBA Indoor Nationals at the Barn are going... Inquiring minds want to know.....

Dave

Dave, I think they are all eating that Michigan cherry pie and are not going to let us know whats going on!!!

Congratulations Dexter Bumgarner!!

Congratulations to Dexter Bumgarner on his first RBA National title.

Dexter had his self-smithed Octagon humming all weekend, finishing 2nd in yards, and
setting a new world indoor record at meters today.

Also congratulations to Michael Edge on his 3gun yards title yesterday.

Congratulations Dexter you deserve the win, good shooting my friend.

When are we going to see equipment list? Was they any Myers or 10x in the field?

Stiff competition

That was some fancy shooting Dex, against a tough crowd . Looks like you never blinked . Way to go .

When are we going to see equipment list? Was they any Myers or 10x in the field?

Equipment wasn't solicited for at the match, so there probably won't be a list.

I think I can safely say there were no 10x or Myers in the field.
I know I saw a lot of Turbos, several 40x's, a Time, a Hall, and a Falcon.

Jeff: We probably should also mention that Craig shot one of his Calfee pistols all weekend. I got to shoot it a few times on Friday. That thing is a hoot! If I shot one of those I could go to matches in a Corvette and have room left over for a blond. bob

I think he just got a Anschultz 54 -X ( X Rifles were right after the wing safety 54`s) rifle from the CMP a couple of months back, Him and Jerry Mcfall both bought a couple and were puting Octagons on them, McFall said that Dexter had figured out the Chamber for the Octagon ,looks like those two may have figured it out for sure . Good shooting Dexter, hope to see yall at Gold City this year.

Dexter was shooting a Turbo with a new Pippin stock also a new octagon barrel chamber that he figured out that works very well with the octagons, Dexter and Joe Hurley have figured out a way of finishing the chambers after they cut them. Chief

Tell Us More

Jerry: Okay, but every time Dexter walked off the line he was carrying one of the 54's, cleaned it and made it ready for the next target....he was three feet from me all weekend at the cleaning table. He never told me about disguising a Turbo to look EXACTLY like an Anschutz 54 with an X in the serial number, but he did tell me how he built the bolt for it.....bob

He made a bolt for one of the X Series Anschutzs 54's? Did he use a new bolt and modify it? I am curious because it is next to impossible to find an X series bolt.

James: Yes he made a rear shroud. Told me he had trouble with it until he took .002 off the face. There is probably more to it, but I don't remember the details. Dexter bought two 54 actions from CMP and did the work himself. He is a rookie in rim fire bench rest and off to a great start, doing all his own work. bob

Jerry told me Dexter got a Wing safety bolt from David Cramer (Berts Garage) which is a very hard to find Bolt also ,removed the Wing safety and modifications to the shroud and it worked, I passed on that same rifle at the CMP,had the 5018 Trigger ,nice stock,no bolt. Carl @ champion shooters said he could not get a bolt, and Neal Stepp said it was worth the Trigger only, Two pretty knowledgeable Anschutz people, All I can say is Dexter is on a roll, sometimes LUCK is on your side.

Bob that cigar smoke is bad for your eyes dexter had two rifles with pippin stocks turbo and anschutz told me he shot the turbo in competition both sat and sun shot two different ammos black on sat and would you believe blue on sunday, record shot with team.
