Raton, this weekend..........

Sorry to not get the xact stuff, but the wind was blowing targets and stats off the wall as quick as it could be posted.........Rod Brown was keeping close track of things and maybe he'll step in here. Anyway, Rex Reneau won the thing.
Out of 58 shooters, there was one target this afternoon with only 7 shooters posting a sub 1" group!! Brutal conditions.

Just got of the phone with Rex. Sounds like he did well.

Connection was kind of bad, but I think that was how it went.

Congrats to Mr Reneau. I normally Call him Rex but after this Mr for a couple of days. Means I also have to but his lunch tomorrow.

Sustained winds, at times, of 35 mph and gusts up to 45 mph ought to be enough to make for 1 inch and larger groups..........Don

Looks about like the Super Shoot. Go to Wunderground.com then History, then Zip code 44666. Super shoot winds were up to about 30 mph and in that region directional variability was what made shooting really fun!!

Yes I saw that Jerry. I noticed that the winds really picked up at about mid-day on Saturday which must have made for a really exciting ending to this years SS, and I imagine it might have played a big part in the final standings of some competitors.................Don

Yes, those winds were especially tricky Saturday when I held into a letup on the last target!!!!

We got it in Maine

This weekend. We had our annual 3 day score shoot at 3 yardages; mooy windy and low scores, lots of long faces amd mumbeling ! :D

Cale: Ratigan, with his speed, would have loved it. I shot some letups that had 4 in an "0" and that last one caught me:mad: But, It was me not putting on the brakes, not the rifle:eek:
I do have to say that the 6mmBeggs was a pleasure to shoot.........I didn't change the load all weekend, and had no problems with vertical at all. I changed the tuner about an eighth of an inch once and set it back a few targets later. I don't honestly know if it was the load, cartridge, or tuner, but I didn't really change anything and it just kept shooting! Now, if I could just get better on the flags, and faster...................

I was a few ranges away shooting the Sportsmans Team Challenge with Lones Wigger. Shooting rimfire standing in that howling wind was not pleasant by any stretch.

I swung by Saturday afternoon and looked around. Made me miss my benchrest roots...
