Does anyone know where you can buy the bushing type range rod like the one on gridders video? and whats your thoughts on that method of chambering.

Do like Gordy did and make it yourself. Take the appropriate size drill rod and drill and tap the end. Use either your toolpost grinder or spin collett fixture set up on your surface grinder and grind to fit your bushing.

Read through this thread for thoughts on Gordy's chambering and a little useless info on how to make your own indicator rod (the useless info is in my posts not Butches).

If anyone is making the indicator rod it is Dave Kiff at PTG.
I know it has been discussed with Dave.
You probably won't find anything out definitive until after the shot show.

I bought one - -

From Gre Tan Rifles when I visited him several years ago. I would think he still has them.

Range Rods

Dave Kiff at PT&G can fix you up. He made me range rods in 17, 20, 22, 6mm, 6.5mm, 7mm, 30, 33, 35, 37, 40, 41, 44, and 45 calibers. To properly use them you need about 25-50 different bushings for each caliber. If the Range rod cost you $39.00-$69.00 each and the bushings are $11.00 each you are talking a considerable expense. I know that I have over $1,600.00 tied up just in bushings. I use the same bushings on piloted center drills, piloted muzzle facing tools, Piloted crowning counter bores, and chamber reamers. Since I added the selection of pilots to my collection to give me the optimum fit I have not had one problem with reamer chatter.

Nat,
I don't believe that he is actually asking about a range rod that Dave makes. The one that Gordy uses has no taper and is smaller than bore size.
