railgun rifle base.

I want a railgun base that's adapted to take a complete rifle. Put another way I want to be able to set/clamp/bolt/superglue a rifle into/onto a base which makes it into a rail.

I know that Mac McCluskey was working on one but haven't heard of any others.

Opinions please. (I realize that it'll be quite long. I'm not concerned with where the scope mounts.)

A number of rimfire guys make this very thing

The forend is usually held in spring loaded delrin and the buttstock rides in a delrin "V". Windage, elevation and return to battery....what more could you want?

All I ass u me that you want a platform to develop loads for a bag gun? I don't think what you are asking for will necessarily fit the bill.

The weight of the gun, and how its balanced, are important factors that dictate how the gun performs in the bags -- especially if yu shoot free recoil (but not so much if you death grip it).

But good luck on your quest. I've only seen the rimfire dealies that Wilbur is talking about, and Don Jackson's screen door set up -- which is similar to the rimfire set up.

No, I'm actually looking for a rail which will accept several of my BR rifles. Specifically I'd like to be able to set it up on the bench, add a good rifle and have a return to battery UL rail. I'm looking to buy/build a real rail but one that will accept the whole rifle. I'm looking at a hunnerd pounder. I don't see any reason why having a stock in the assembly will hurt accuracy. A GOOD stock installed by a GOOD 'smith.

BTW I'm further not convinced that monster-fat cruiser barrels are the be-all and end-all for raw accuracy so barrel diameter isn't a huge issue for me. I HAVE a couple Borden's that WILL shoot zero's........well, wicked small anyways....and Jim's fitting me up some tuners.......

I've got a barrel cooler that works and is fast/easy.

dumb?

hmmm, I'll hafta' go peruse The Dark Side a liddle to find out if anything's heavy enough for me.

Can you tell me where to look? I mean I've seen some of the delrin roller rigs but they're set up for wienie recoil using little coil springs. I'm looking for hydraulic damping and inches of throw.

thanks

Ed Adams in about 2000 or 2001

8 or 9 years ago, Ed Adams was shooting an unlimited rifle that had grooves on the fore-end and butt stock that matched balls on the front and rear rest. As I remember, it shot pretty good. Is that set-up still available?, and from who?

O-K Al-

Gitcha one of them Caldwell lead sleads, 3 & 1/2 bags of shot, [# 8 incase it don't work, you could use the shot for bird huntin'], 2 pair training wheels you stold from the kids that toilet papered your yard on Halloween night, a couple of grade stakes to track the wheels and ther's your hunert pounds. [there is no "d" in hunert]. If it works there will be one with six wheels on it at the next shoot!!

I'm bored, watching epoxie set up.
