Question for you Bullet Makers...

what is the max velocity of a 6mm 65 to 68 grain J-4 Jacket bullet fired from a 1-14 twist barrel before you would expect failure? Is there a velocity short of failure when the jackets may bulge in flight and cause flyers? Tks

I've shot my 68 grain bullets made on .825's out of my 10 twist 6x47Lapua at over 3,700fps and had them group in the .1's. So I'm confident there is no failure up to that velocity and that in a 10 twist barrel.

Gerg, via 1:14" twist, chambered for the 6MM Cat-Bird (a version of the 6MM/o6 Ackley Imp.), some people have reported shooting my 67/71 Gr. FBs at up to 4100+FPS - without failures! Good shootin'! RG

RG:

With your 118 gr .308 10 ogive bullet what is the bullet BC? Also what would be 600 yd velocity with a MV of 3000 fps?

Thx.
