The .045 freebore will work perfect with the Barts .790 Boat Tail
Here is what we have found. The Barts BT is actually a little fatter at that part of the bullet that contacts the lands. Hence, it actually sticks about .035 further into the case than does the Bruno.
I do not know exactly what the double o-give numbers are on the two bullets, but if the Bruno is a 7.5 to 10, then the Barts is about a a 7.5 to 9. These are just hypoltheticle numbers to give you an idea as to the difference, not actual numbers.
The week end before we went to Midland, a friend, Vic Smith, had just taken order on his .790 Barts BT's. I took some of them, and without changing anything on my combination except the seating depth stem, (I used the same "long marks" as I do with the Bruno BT), I loaded up some and shot some groups. For all general purposes, I could not tell the difference in these bullets and the Bruno BT.
Actually, I think the originol Ultra is closer to being the same bullet as the Bruno, besides the boat Tail. If I remember correctly, I did not have to change my seating depth at all when swItching from a Ultra to the Bruno BT.
I went with the zero freebore with the Bruno to compensate for the BT.
So, to answer your question, you can use the originol Barts Ultra, or the Headhunter, with the .045 freebore. This is what Gary Walters is shooting, with great results, as in the last couple of matches, he has done quite well using the Barts Headhunter jammed tight,, 13.5 Krieger, a big dose of 133, in his .045 freebore, (my reamer0..........jackie
