Had some time to kill and decided to see which gunsmiths performed the best at the Rocky River Barn match.
Surprisingly there were sixteen different gunsmiths in the top thirty places.
Results follow:
Calfee 7
Gorham 6
Taylor 4
Kennimer 1
Hittie 1
Darnell 1
Myers 1
Love 1
Voelker 1
Owens 1
Higdon 1
Langley 1
Brock 1
Bumgardner 1
Barnes 1
Loggins 1

That's interesting Ernie - -

I saw written on another Forum the other day that Calfee Rifles had dominated - - -

Pete,
I just added up the top thirty.Everyone can draw their own conclusions.
However, now that I've thought about it I'll have to do the same for the rest of the PSL matches. The year end results should be interesting.
Maybe we should have "GUNSMITH OF THE YEAR".How about it Dan?

Kent Owens had at least one in the top 20 It will probably be corrected later

Ernie why not just go with top 10, it is more concise and to the point.

Calfee-4
Gorham-2
Taylor-2
Kennimer-1
Hittie-1

Go back to the other years and compile the top 10 by year and lets see who the gunsmith with the best out of the top 10 would be.

If you were to do just the top ten you would need to consider what percentages of rifles were built by them?!
Example only top ten gun smiths!
-----------Built----------Top Ten-------%
Hittie -------1-------------- 1-----------100
Kenimer----2---------------1------------50
Taylor------7---------------2------------28.57
Calfee-----19------------- -4------------21.05
Gorham---11--------------2-------------18.18

Pete Bill Calfee had 3 rifles in the top 5.His rifles had the only two 2450's shot and set a new world record with a 2500-19X.

Why not do a top ten gunsmith on the ARA also for the end of the year and then it would not only be for the guns back east it would cover the west also
