Wonder if anyone has made a tool to tighten up the primer pockets, anyone have any drawings on the concept or how they work, I have a lathe and drill rod, I tried to make one a few yrs back, it did not do anything.

Robert W. Hart and Son has the "Creasy" Tool. It is my understanding the fix is short-lived though.

The tool is short lived. If the tool had been hardned it would last but the one I bought from them was made of soft steel and was quickly distorted from beating on it. The concept is valid but the vehicle to get there is sub-standard.

Chet,

How did you go about trying to make one? A friend of mine made me a handy gadget for sizing the brass all the way down by the use of a pushrod that slips in to the ram in place of the shellholder and an almost bored out smallbase die. You actually push the case up all the way through the die. A side benefit seems to be tighter pockets as well. Also have you tried the Russian SRM Primers imported by Wolf. The thicker cups sure breathed life into some of my brass? If you would like some pics of the gadget email me at steelyeyed.com

Rick.
