Air Gun Shooters,
The March 22, 2014 match had a nice turnout with fourteen air gunners. This was the sixth and last match of this Fall/Winter Indoor Benchrest season at CCRP. The temperature indoors started at 37 degrees and went up to 42 degrees during the match.
The Golden Cuspidor sat on Mark Burns’s bench during this match since he was February 2014 Match winner with a 999-64x score.
Overall scores were up from last month. Mark Burns shot another perfect 1,000 score (shouldn’t have told him about the Chinese pellets). Mark and JD Dodge are the only two to have a 1,000 score out of the 34 matches using the current target. There were five shooters in the 990s. There were seven targets (four shooters) with 250 out of 250.
Ron Price came to the match and brought Shawn Regis to try our match. Good to see Ron since work usually keeps him away.
There were twelve PCP rifles and two Springers [both Springers were Feinwerkbau (FWB) 300s].
The Match Winner was Mark Burns with a score of 1,000-74x. Fantastic shooting. This was Mark’s fourth consecutive win. He is the only person to do this.
Ron Price was First PCP with a 996-50x score. Ron had four 249s (he still knows how to shoot). JD Dodge was Second Place PCP with a score of 995-46x. Third Place PCP went to Bill Quick with his 993-69x score (second highest ‘x’ count).
Shawn Regis started a little slow but ended with a 250-22x on his fourth target. Other 250 out of 250 were John Calhoun with a 250-15x and Dave Brown with a 250-14x. Nice going guys.
Walt Schumacher was First in the Springer Class with a 984-42x. Second Place in Springer Class was Harvey Gertson with a 982-33x. Walt and Harvey scores were the same except for the second target.
Shooters Equipment:
Mark Burns shot an Anschutz 8002 and Qiang Yuan 8.2 gr. pellets. Ron Price shot an FWB P-70 FT with H&N 10.6 gr. pellets. JD Dodge shot an AA EV2 with AA 8.4 gr. Pellets. Bill Quick shot an Anschutz 8002 using JSB-100 pellets.
Walt Schumacher shot a FWB 300S using JSB Express 7.8 gr. pellets. Harvey Gertson shot a FWB 300 Tyrolean stock using H&N Match WC 7.56 gr. pellets with a Bushnell 4200 8-32x40 scope.
Mark Burns will be the holder of the Golden Cuspidor at the October 2014 Match.
