Basically, we're all new to this game! As you can see by the responses to Open Grove's matches, as well as to other matches posted on this forum, a lot of us who are new to AirGun Benchrest are buying our guns through Allen Zasadny. You need to decide on what class or classes you want to shoot in.
For the springer you can get an FWB 300 for around 500 to 600 dollars in very good shape.
These are used match rifles.
For around the same price you can get an Walther LGR which is a single stroke pump
rifle to shoot in the Match class.
Both of these guns where Olympic class rifles before PCP rifles took over.
They will shoot as good as you can read the wind. Which is a lot more critical then
with 22 cal rimfire.
I have both of the above guns and they will stack pellets if you do your part, but it's not easy.
For PCP rifles ther are a lot of good choices.
