Are the new Shilen actions going to be good enough for benchrest comp?

Although they are probably dimensionally up to the task, they do not have a trigger bracket, and so they would require trigger pin holes in the stock, which are a bit trickier to manage. I have had one very reliable report on their suitability for a build designed for extreme accuracy.

I guess that I'll cross that one off. How about the Pierce benchrest action then?

Well all they are is a Stiller preditor action with a diferent treading to accept a savage barrel. It would be as competitive as a Stillar preditor. The question is what do you consider "benchrest comp?" I would say it would be plenty accurate , and a good fit for 600 and 1000 yard benchrest, and heck if a remington 40x, or other clones are accurate enough for point blank benchrest, why woundn't this be as well.
