Anybody tried the new Hornady Long Range Match Bullets on their new jackets?, I am thinking of the 178 grn for my 721 30-06 project, (1-10 twist Krieger), and Ed wants to try the 6.5 140 grn in his 6.5x55 Ackley, and the 108 in his 1-8 twist 6BR........jackie

Jackie,

Dave Tooley has done a lot of work with Hornady. You might give him a call.

Don't forget your old pal, R.G. Robinett. His 187-10 ogive flatbase bullets hold three out of the four small 10-shot group records at 1,000 yards (NBRSA, IBS, and Australia). Should be perfect in an '06 case, but if not, he's got some lighter ones too.

We are shooting at my range in Huntsville this Sunday getting ready to go to Utopia for the Dukes 400 yd match the 23.
Ya'll are welcome to come up anytime to shoot if you want to get out past 200.

Mike, we will be shooting the Crawfish at Tomball this week end.

I will have my reamer in two weeks, then I will have this '06 up and running. It is not by any means a Bench Rifle, just a good custom built to Benchrest Standards. One thing I did invest in with a true 600 yard Bench Rifle in mind is that 8-32 Nightforce. The mounts allow for easy removal, so I can see it sitting on something else in the future........jackie

Jackie,

I shoot the new Hornady 178gr BTHP in a .308 Armalite AR-10T 11.25 twist and at a recent Designated Marksman match performed quite well using this bullet. They shoot very well in this rifle. I think a little better than the 178gr AMAX and about the same as the 185 Berger.
