New Falcon Rimfire BR action

Leonard Baity was available at our NC State IR5050 meters match with some prototypes of his new actions on display. I'm going to try and post a few pictures that were taken to share with whomever may be interested. It's a very nice action with some unique features. This has been in the works for quite some time and the prototypes are very nice. Leonard assures me that the production models will be even better.
This action has the capability of having the firing pin spring tension adjustable, and also the firing pin protrusion, and a few other littel things a gunsmith might notice. I did not take any pics of the inner workings of the bolt, but he did have one disassembled for folks who were interested.
This action is a bit shorter than the the length of a 40X, receiver ring is about the the same length, which will also allow you to use two guard screws forward of the trigger guard if wanted, or one in the front receiver ring and one in the tang. The action in the pics has an aluminum bolt handle but the standard will have stainless. The aluminum bolt handle was something I asked for anticipating the new phase, a sporter, and Leonard made one up to show me.
Note- A six oclock firing pin setup will be an option with this action for those who want that option. An action with a six oclock pin set up will cost $1150.
This was something a lot of folks inquired about and Leonard worked it out yesterday.

Are there any projected cost to the public at this early stage of production? jack c

Fred,
As for an exact release date, I don't know, but very soon. Once the program has been finalized, production can begin. I plan on having one barreled and shooting in the next two weeks. Like I said earlier, this has been in the works for a while, and there was no reason to mention it until it was tested and ready to go. So soon, is the only answer I can give at this time. I apologize for that.

Fred,
Tenon size is .750 X 16 TPI. Hope that helps. If you have any other questions please let me know. You can give me a call at 336-696-2979, if the machine picks up mention the action and your name and I'll pick up the phone. I no longer answer unknown #'s. I'm home all the time, that I'm not gone.

Kent will this action see any heat treatment before or after machining? Jack C

Jack- No heat treatment is done after the action is machined. As for the specific hardness I can't answer that, but it is 416 stainless. I'm going over the to shop tomorrow and I'll find out then. I'll try and post a list of specs once things are finalized.

Cliff--Yeah I got chiggers as well, first time since I was a kid and that was a long time ago.
I put some Neosporin on mine and it seemed to help, but the itch is still there. I'll ask Dr. Gambill what he would prescribe. My guess would be to just put some Jack Daniels on them until I can figure out a cure. I guess you guys are all upset at me for getting the chiggers. Do you reckon I'll get lynched or tarred and feathered when I come back to Tennessee? I apologize for the chiggers, I thought they were extinct until the past weekend!!!

Chiggers!!!!

Hey Kent
??? What about the chiggers
??? Did you get them
??? Do you know how to kill them
If so let us know
Jesse and I have all ready tried the Finger nail Polish and it don't work
I am eat up with them and so is Jesse and Truman
Oh Well 99 digrees with Humidity 98 % and chiggers what a day

Howdy,
OK, whatcha gotta do here is overpower the lil' darlin's with a combination of poison ivy, poison oak and poison sumac, stirred up and boiled down to a broth. Spread it over the affected area and make them so miserable they have to leave. Sorta do unto them as they have done unto you. :D:D

Or..................
Check out this website!

Google chiggers. I was surprised at the amount of info.

I AIN'T GOT A CLUE WHAT TO DO ABOUT GAMBLERS TICKS!!!!! SCARY!!!

My first instinct would be a .45, but the collateral damage.........

Hope that helps. I remember being a boy of 10, and so tore up by chiggers that I swelled up enough to be a mighty manly man. And, no, I ain't saying that to sound like a pervert. I HATE chiggers!

Greg

Chiggers have never been a problem at our range in So Texas, but would it be feasible to have the range area sprayed to kill off these critters?

Fred,
I plan on trying to find out what to spray, and if there is something available, I'm going to spray the area around the benches before the next match.

Kent, back before I got to lazy to travel to away match's I shot at your club once or twice a year. Someone mentioned chiggers there, so I ayways sprayed my shoes & legs with off & never had any problem. Of course I got um plenty of times as a kid picking blackberries. I think I remenber taking a salty bath. I hope that helps the victims. Best wishes, glynn

I know what you mean Glynn! My younger brother and I picked a lot of blackberrys when we were kids. I remember selling them for 50 cents per gallon, of course we didn't charge Mom anything. That's the only way we had to make any pocket money! They used to be plentiful!
I'll buy some OFF! I used to keep it in my tackle box before I got too lazy to fish--now tha's lazy!!

Kent.............................................. ....

Maybe we can send you some gnats.......they might make the chiggers so mad they might leave!! Oh, by the way chiggers isn't politically correct anymore....you must call them CHIGROS!!:D:D
