I got to see the new Baity action today, it is a right bolt / left/ right eject and it is the smoothest Rim Fire Action I have ever had the privilege of shooting . My action will be here next Fri and hope to be able to use it in the Shop Shoot @ Ennis, Tx next Sun. I think Lenard Baity has a REAL winner:D

When you say new, are you talking about the Falcon?

John M. Carper

no only one at this time it is a falcon left port right bolt right eject and it is smooth as silk put a barrel on it today will be at the range first thing in the morning rain are not

Pictures please! Is it the like the one BC showed....a completely open port...right bolt , left port, with the right port milled in.

Brian

i wished i knew how to post pictures of the action ,but it has a micro port on the right ,it is the first one baity has made and he let me try the first one,i am taking it to the indoor shoot at ennis texas on the 11th

Is there some particular theory that an ejection port does anything or is this a machining excercise?

I asked a few people last year if it was possible and was told a right port would screw up the Barrel Vibrations. I have seen a number of Turbos with either two ports or just a huge top opening. Personally, I think there will be no adverse effect from having a port on both sides. My next action will probably have two ports and/or a right eject, for sure. Sure would be nice to keep the spent cases away from the live ones and the "Working Side" of the bench, eh?

Hi Bill,

Do you think the ejection port adversely effected the accuracy of that rifle?

I have to shoot it in a few matches before I can answer that Pete

i do not know yet, but my bat action has a right eject and my kelby

bill we should have taken pictures today so you could post them

If the receiver has one ejection port instead of two shouldn't it be more "rigid" and make for a more accurate rifle ?

I think if more attention was paid to ease of loading, the loading port could be made smaller. An ejection port for a .22 rf case doesn't have to be very large. I think the rigidity arguement is over stated. Look at a lot of rifles of Old for instance. The loading ports on my two Modern RF rifles are Huge and don't need to be. One of them loads very easily. I would gladly trade a third of it's opening for an ejection port on it's right side. The other could be made to load easily I believe if some attention was paid to it.

I agree Pete. We typically take a concept to the extreme and fail to grasp the point of diminishing return.

The problem is, people don't think much beyond a certain point. They become rigid and as Chester A. Riley said so nobly, "My Head is Made Up". Not much attention has been paid to the shooter and the lack of ease in shooting. My Turbo is a Chore to shoot yet it is regarded to be the Cat's PJ'S, how does that square?

It squares in the fact the cats PJ's is about how accurately it shoots Pete not how it loads, and as for the accuracy of them just look at the top of every major contest and it is patently obvious. The little thumb cutout that some gunsmiths put in them make them much easier to load.

Flash made several Rb/Lp/Re actions, I have one that Flash did for $75 extra,Richard Gorham has done 2 more for me and John Higdon has done one for Jody Reed and Chan McDonald, both do excellant work and that with the Thumb groove makes the loading a piece of cake, Pete if you want sell or trade that ole Turbo send me a PM.

i have a turbo what will you pay/i am sold on the falcons

Mr. Bowers asked me to post these for him.
