New Air Rifle Restrictions in the UK?

Oh, thank goodness! This should go a long ways toward eliminating that rampant air-gun crime wave. (We need a face-palm icon...). I'm sure California is watching with bated breath.

California probably already has this at the top of their list. Sling shots and pea shooters are next.

Wrist rocket type sling shots are already outlawed in New York and I understand now that New Jersey restricts all pellet (and BB) guns and all Sling Shots. I have a Crossman 38 T, which is an exact duplicate of a S&W and fits in the same holster. Currently still legal in New York State, but no police officer is going to ask if it is real if you have it out an appear that you are about to illegally use it. In this state getting a State Concealed Pistol permit is not really hard, but one of the grounds for losing it is having your concealed weapon un-concealed and visible.
The UK consists of England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland. Pistols are banned in all but Northern Ireland.
Air rifles over 12ft/lbs are classed as firearms in the UK and licensed as such.
The recent change is Scotland, who have chosen to license (but not ban) all air weapons irrespective of power.
The latest restriction - the UK Government is proposing to ban the 50BMG - or any other cartridge/gun capable of generating over 10,000 ft/lbs of muzzle energy.

Suppression of the public at large to keep the Elite in power- nothing new. Englands entire history revolves around this concept. Players change concept stays- generally most of Europe is this way along with a lot of other countries. In this one respect the USA is different- which is a giant barbed thorn in oh so many areas.

Thinking about this,
with Australia start in life as a prison colony, I find it interesting that they seem so closely aligned with GB on things such as gun laws, etc. One might think they would shun about everything GB might be for. Perhaps it's just my radical side thinking that way but I'd be all for driving on the right and like Vermont, have no gun restrictions, be as unlike GB as I could be.

AUS- Have to remember that even though a penal colony- control was still British elite before and after. And then there is human nature- so, if in and want to preserve it, naturally youd wish to suppress those that would differ. Players change, times change - concept stays the same. The particular aplication of the concept might be different - end game goal same.
