I am building a long range rifle. I will use A4 stock and krieger barrel. but cannot decide on what action to use.

I have following im mind:

1. stiller TAC30 left hand
2. Kelbly Kodiak left hand
3. BAT VR repeater left hand

they looks similar except kodiak is a little bigger also comes with build in recoil lug, I guess it is stiffer than all others? does this make it the strongest action among all of the above?

stiller TAC30 is about $250 cheaper than others, why?

which one is more reliable?

thanks

The last I knew the Stiller Tac and Predator actions are right hand actions only. One reason that Jerry is able to keep the price of those actions as reasonable as they are is that he uses Pacific bolts in them instead of making the bolts for the Tac and Predator actions themselves. They do make the complete action incuding bolts for their higher priced Diamondback and Viper benchrest actions.

thanks I will cross out TAC30.

now its between Kodiak and BAT VR repeater.

What Cal...

I have two Kodiaks that are .308 bolt face and work as repeaters in various cals. (6mmBR- 6x47-.243 win.) and two Kodiak Mag repeaters .....they all work just like a hunting repeater....feed smooth...cone breaching on the .308's ...can use all of my target bbls...common thread and headspace......cant be beat...Roger

I have 4

Custom action Hunter type rifles, 2 Stillers, a Kodiak and a Rimrock. Don't know if he makes LH rimrocks but it is a pretty good action I think; haven't fired it yet.

I owned a BAT a couple of years ago. It was the nicest action I have owned to date. Every BAT I have ever handled gave me the same feeling mine did; This was worth the wait ! I would endorse the BAT over all others at this point. All of the BATS that I have observed ejecting seem to work well also. Ejection is a consideration.

I have all 3 in RH Repeaters and I like the Stiller followed by the Kodiak then the BAT. Speedy did them all and they shoot very well----the BAT will sometimes if placing very much upward pressure on the bolt when cycling it bind just a little but that is to be expected. Just be ready for it and if it ever got dirty in the field from let's say dust and dirt which we all know does not Ever Happen-----it will be a lot worse --- don't ask me how I know:)...

All are exellent products period........

IS available lefty

The Tac 30 IS available in left hand. I'm almost perzactly sure of that. Can't see the Pacific bolt to be a deal breaker.

Bat VR also probably has a recoil lug available

Many Bats come with a recoil lug at no additional charge (if you ask). The RL repeater apparently comes with a recoil lug as their picture on web page shows it. I have two Left Handed B155R actions that do in fact have recoil lugs although they are not shown on the web page photo, so only a call or email to Bat is likely to get you the complete answer on this subject

In light of this - -

actions are available in left hand now. i need to update the site.

I can recommend either a Diamondback, which is my favorite or the Rattler. I have owned a couple of Rattlers and the one Diamondback and have had good results with them. They are a very good value. i don't know anything about the TAC 30.
