neck turning.

there was a article by t j jackson on neckturning in p s several years ago.he stated that you need a perfect neck to shoot in 0,s.he bored out case,necked turned seval times to get perfect necks.this alowed the case to be in alinement with the bore.any thoughts on this?now remember that all this case turning applys to the ppc case also.

Just My Opinion

I am probably committing "Benchrest Heresy", but I think that some of what Mr Jackson wrote in that article is a waste of time. Especially all of that boring out the ID's of necks, and multiple turnings, etc.

I see shooters all of the time spending all of that effort on necks, and their dies won't even produce rounds that run within .002. Go figure.....jackie

For another angle, read (if you haven't already) the article about Ted Broughton beginning on page 78. I'll only quote a short section, "You must have a good case to start with . . . the entire case . . . you can't make a bad one good by merely improving one part of it."
