Neck turning. Hand or motor powered?

I have the Sinclair neck turning tool.I oil the mandrel and the outside of the neck on the brass to be turned.I then put the case in my 1/2 inch drill and run the brass into the cutter at a medium speed. Its fast and accurate.I hold the sinclair in my hand .I use Sinclair neck turning oil in the green bottle. It is easy and my 72 year old hands do not give out in the process.I end up with plus or minus 1/2 thou.in size.Works great!!

I used a cordless drill set-up for many years.....until I built the set-up below. NO comparison. I also measure the neckwall thickness runout for each turned case....well below a "tenth" TIR. Using carbide turning mandrels is nice.
