N133 or LT32 ?

100-200 group shooters

Now that the end of the 2014 is almost here. Another year for people to have shot and gained more experience with LT.
What are your thoughts?
Did you shoot more LT than 133 in2014?
Did one outperform the other?
Did one outperform the other only in certain conditions ?
If so what are these conditions ?
Do you plan to shoot just one or the other next year?
Or do you plan to take both to matches to see which is working better?

How many have made the decision to go with LT32 100%?

I shot both this year and seemed to do better with LT.
I'm asking these questions to help me decide which powders to buy over the winter for next year

Thanks for any input

Tim

I finished up an 8 pound jug of LT-32 this year which would be about 2000 rounds. I think it's the same as any powder that you have to shoot it enough to get to know it and which way to go with it to get it to shoot. I was shooting it on the light side compared to what some others were shooting somewhere around 27.6 gr to 28.5gr. The lot (2) chronographed 3300 fps with 27.6 gr with my chamber. Throat length, seating pressure, bullet ogive and lot number evidently will make a lot of difference when you compare what you are shooting to what someone else is shooting. I haven't shot enough lot numbers to know how they compare to other lots. I know Bart Sauter and Billy Stevens were both shooting LT powder and they did very well with it and were shooting considerably hotter loads than I was. If you can, I'd take both powders to the matches, LT and 133. If you have time to shoot the day before the matches, see which shoots better at that particular range. Sometimes its hard to tell, the same as having two rifles and choosing which is the better rifle. You make a choice and live with it. Probably the best thing though is a lot of shooting at home testing and learning the powder. I'd bet that most of the ones who do the best at matches are the ones who spend the time at home shooting.

Shot LT all year. Didn't win any matches till the last tournament. Switched rifles. Same bullets same load.
And the other rifle had 2 new barrels put on it. Other rifle used barrel over 3K round count.
Staying with LT-32. Don't really have enough N133 for a whole season. Next year will be more shooting.
N133 was not available for most of the year. Why bother. And it costs so much more. A tank of gas. That first class ticket really eats up some dollars.:p

Oh, did I stir the pot enough? If not let me know. :D

Tim,

I've shot LT for the past two years. In my opinion when its working its easier to keep up with then 133. LT 32 doesn't seem to be as squirrely as 133 in low humidity either.

However, you need to carry both 133 and LT32 to matches. This year there were matches that LT absolutely would not shoot!
