My First 300 Yard Experience. Help.

Phil, if you are getting sub-MOA groups from a gas gun shooting factory ammo with a 10X scope in a howling wind at 300yd, I'd say you're doing as well as can be expected.

I think Toby really nailed it there. Could'nt agree more.
You've gotten lots of good advice in this post and I see you posted your desire to buy a rest and forend stabilizer. I'll add just one thing to it all.
You said you dropped your scope to 10X because 24X was shaking too much.
That shake is still there at 10X just not as noticeable to the shooter;)

Rest or no rest keep the power up. The shake is yours to correct.
Factor in all the conditions you shot under today and I'd be happy to keep it under moa;) Have fun
 
Thanks. Makes total sense. The rifle IS moving if I see shake! It can't be accurate if it is moving when I pull the trigger. Doh! I have so much to learn, I feel like an amoeba on the evolutionary scale. Thanks to all for patience to my never ending questions. I get the sense you guys will forget more than I ever will know.
