My dear friends:

Been a long day....man, there's so many folks wanting these little guns....

I wanted to take a few minutes to add some more information......but first, I've had a bunch of correspondence and calls from you fine folks who view this fine forum......you folks that don't post......be patient, I can ony spend so much time on here.......

Two letters stick out: The first from a fellow in NY.....his question was something like; Bill, if the parallel node gets longer or shorter as vibrations increase or decrease, which is which? My friend, that's a good question..

As the vibrations of the barrel increase, the parallel node gets shorter...
My dear centerfire friends....this is so extremely important....think about this..
Think very hard about this....gosh, there's so much to discuss...

The second letter of importance was from a gentleamn in Iowa....He said he had two muzzle devices, one's commercially available, both weigh about the same, about 8 1/2 ounces, both adjustable.....one is about an inch shorter in length overall.............

He said he can not make the shorter muzzle device kill the vertical....but he can, with the longer muzzle device......he asks WHY.....?

MY friend, a killer question.....Every since I started discussing muzzle devices, with you awesome centerfire folks, I've always made the same statement:

"A muzzle device of the proper weight, placed at the proper location ahead of the muzzle, has the ability to "stop the muzzle"....thereafter, no further adjustment is necessary" Unquote....

My friend from Iowa has found that the weight itself is not the secret....it's the proper weight and proper placement that can stop the muzzle...

Even though his two muzzle devices weigh exactly the same, the longer one, IN HIS CASE, places the weight properly to stop his muzzle...

My dear centerfire friends, more later...am headed to the range to run the third barrel test on SPEC 5........

My friends, what an awesome time to be in the business of developing accuracy...so much is happening...it's awesome....

For all you folks that have asked questions about the new RvA muzzle device.......that call is Roger's when he feels ready......

Your friend, Bill Calfee

Seems like I remember someone predicting this before. :D But my question would still be how much of either device is in front of the crown and how much is behind it.

"Always"????????
Not entirely true my "friend". You had claimed a method of predicting the amount of weight required and basically discounted the importance of position - I remember a fairly long discussion on the subject trying to get you to understand this. And now you've "always" said it.....:D:D

If he has indeed "stopped" his muzzle, as opposed to found a good tune. :D

It would seem to me

that there has to be a specific range of velocities that a "Muzzle Device" can dampen, otherwise gravity and air resistance is going to take a big grip at some point, isn't it?
