Mod 70 trigger replacement

Ok, I'm about to give up on this thing. There is absolutely no blockage in the sear hole. The sear block is about .04 too far forward or towards the barrel to push the sear ramp back to engage the safety. I can't disassemble the safety or the cocking piece. The only thing small enough to fit in the hole on the cocking piece is a small nail. This is a Post 64. Seems the trigger group sits too far forward to push the sear ramp back. You wouldn't file the sear ramp would you?

Anyway, about to bag this thing up and find a smith.

That is the smart thing to do on your part. In this day and age, you need to call around and ask, if they work on Winchester triggers for the M-70. To many people today only know Remington.

Ok, won't beat this dead horse anymore. My buddy MissLou MudCat picked up this morning to take to his smith. Gotten way over my head and don't want an unsafe rifle.

I want to thank everyone for their help especially Mr. Bohl for his illustrations and advice. Also want to thank MissLou for taking care of this problem for me.
