Mixing lots of powder???

I have seven 1-lbs cans of H4198 from 3 different lots I picked up in 2009. Never found a 8 lb jug.

Any reason I can't blend these into a single 8 lb jug so I can have some consistence powder for the next year or so? I am starting with a new barrel, so starting over again. I have done this with hunting powders in the past. Tim

tiny68,

Good idea. A couple of dishpans to pour back and fourth helps with the mixing.

Tim, I have done the same thing. Its a lot easier than working up a new load every time you open a new can!

What?: you did not record the density of the 3 lots????!!!!

It's what I do all the time. If you happen to have an empty 8 lb powder jug, or a clean, dry gallon jug pour all the powder into the jug and rotate the jug to mix the lots. It's much easier to spend 20 minutes doing this than to work up a load with each lot of powder.

Haven't seen that it hurt anything either.
