Sloughhouse Benchrest Shooters held our 2nd Chabot Special of the year today and 10 shooters came out to challenge the dreaded Ione Triangle winds. We had a nice mix of BR rifles, two F-Class shooters, 2 factory rifles and a couple of BR pistols.
We shoot 4- 3 bull Targets, (similar to a UBR bull), 5 shots per bull for both Group & Score at 200 yards.
X-dot counts 11, groups are actual size not backed down to MOA.
Conditions were fairly mild to start, picking up as the morning went on and by the time we shot target 4 things were definitely getting frisky.
Target 1 Score had George Palms shooting a 156 just edging out Tom Hogue who shot a 155 to garner 2nd, with Greg Wilson & Jeff Rodriguez tied for 3rd both with 154's.
Target 1 Group was also taken by George with a nice .514 agg, Jeff taking 2nd with a .591, followed by Greg with a .599 in 3rd.
Target 2 Score was won by Jeff with a 156, Greg 2nd at 151 beating out Shawn Davison on a tiebreaker also with a 151 for 3rd.
Target 2 Group was won by Greg with a .647, Jeff 2nd with a .730, Shawn Davison 3rd at .815.
Special shout out to Lisa Schaffer for finishing 4th with a .839 shooting her 6PPC BR pistol.
Target 3 Score had Greg winning 1st with a 151, beating Shawn's 151 on another tiebreaker, Tom Hogue took 3rd with a 148.
Target 3 Group was Greg again 1st with a .898, Tom 2nd with a .912, Shawn 3rd at .930. I tell ya those F-Class boys (Tom & Shawn) just love coming down the hill from the 1000 yd range and put a whooping on us BR shooters.
Target 4 Score was Shawn taking 1st with a 152, Derek Schaffer shooting his BR pistol was 2nd with a 151, Jeff 3rd at 150.
Target 4 group was more of the same with Greg 1st at .766, Derek 2nd with a .890 edging out Shawn who took 3rd at .898.

I give full credit for my win today to the incredible job that BC'z did turning the Lee Six stock on my 30 BR Teddy into the Columbian Emerald that it know is. My fellow shooters were dazzled by it's beauty and I think it affected their concentration!

Thanks to everyone who came out to shoot, and I really appreciate everyone helping out with the setup and teardown, makes my life a lot easier. Hope to see everyone in June for the first half of the Bob Dorton Memorial 4-Gun group match.
June will be SPTR/LV 100/200, July will be HV/UNL 100/200.

Congratulations to Greg Wilson for his outstanding performance in both score and group aggregates. I can’t wait to participate again in June’s Bob Dorton Memorial; it sounds like a fantastic event.
