Making weight with a tuner

I have made a 3.5 oz. tuner that works pretty well for me, Ive decided that my next new barrel will be fitted with one. When I do the math it looks like Im not going to have much cylinder left if any if I go with 22". I know some of you use heavier tuners, so I was wondering what yall do to make weight(shorter barrels with some cylinder or longer ones with no cylinder etc.) with a tuner.
Thanks,

Jonathan, my tuners weigh a tad over 5 ounces. That means I had to slim down something, and that is the barrel. At 76 ounces, they only have about 1/2 inch of "cylinder" left at the chamber end. I see no detrament what so ever in a barrel that weighs under 5 pounds at a 21 1/2 inch length........jackie

when we say 21 1/2 inch Length does that include the entire barrels length or from the action face to the muzzle? Lee

The tuners that Darrel Loker is making are going on fluted barrels. Pretty simple in that you take the weight of the tuner off by how much weight your remove in flutes on the barrel. Darrel is putting tapered flutes on his barrels so that if the fluting does open up the bore of the barrel that it will be opened up less at the muzzle.

How about a stock designed for tuner equipped rifles ? A couple of extra inches of forend length would help the balance.
