Looking for a die

I am looking for a die that will act as a Small Base die for a bunch of used 30-30 cases I have and want to use. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

ThNKS,

Pete

Pete, I'm not sure what your fired 30-30 cases measure right ahead of the rim, but most 30-30 cases run about .422-ish. The old 25 Remington cases are about .421 right ahead of the rim.....so maybe a 25 Rem. f.l. die could help out if you just need a thou. right ahead of the rim. If so, you could just open up the forward part of the die and use it as a 'ring' die to size the area just ahead of the rim. But if you need to 'small base size' much of the 30-30's taper, this might not work as the 25 Remington cases don't have the taper that the 30-30's do.

For what it's worth.... -Al

Pete--The RCBS TRIM die should work it fl sizes (not quite small base), you can adjust the shoulder push by screwing the die in or out, leaves the neck a couple thousandts larger than needs be for seating bullets which you will have to use another die for and you can face off your shellholder to get a little closer to the rim if you have excessive swell there. If you can't get close enough to the rim I would call Larry Willis and see if his die method would work (even though his are for belted magnums).
