The Clown Prince of Benchrest (Messrs. Tom Libby III) wins the LV/HV 2-Gun at Visalia with a .2805. Norm Jeffery was 2nd with a .2865 and Marty Childers was 3rd with a .2889.

I did not attend and don't have details regarding conditions or other match-related factoids. Based on weather reports from the internet, it was challenging conditions on Saturday and better on Sunday.

Hopefully, Dan, Tom, Marty or another shooter will post additional information as they can.

Congratsulations to all.

Congratulations Tom. The Visalia crew ain't easy. Evidently, you brought your lunch. Just out of curiosity, could you tell us something of your equipment and load?

Sorry I missed the fun
I am on the disabled list of handicapped shooters for the foreseeable future
Weather was very cold and damp
It was 29 degrees east of Visalia with snow in the mountains at Shaver Lake

With a winning grand of .2802, and seventh place breaking down into the .3s, conditions must have been "interesting".

Bob Hope was almost as good of a "cut up" as you, but I doubt he could swing a golf club as well as you shoot Benchrest.:D Good Show........jackie

Sorry to hear you are under the weather Dan - I hope you get better soon. Great photo; thanks for posting.

From my humble view in the grandstands, multi-gun wins don't come that often for most shooters. Even when an 'ol veteran like Libby gets a 2-gun it is a big accomplishment in my book. The Visalia regulars are some very tough shooters and you had better be on your best game to compete. Apparently the weather was challenging and everyone had to work hard to stay on top of their tune and the conditions. Reading the match report indicates that Norm Jeffery, the Childers boys and Thornbury were hot on Tom's heals and he had to ignore the "voices".

WAY TO GO LIBBY!

Here is a photo of Tom and I after a recent match where things did not go well.

I must tell the truth, Carolyn has been working very hard this past year to date in making living for us as she has now put me into being the house boy doing the washing, dusting, dishes etc. So she has not been able to shoot much so she is going to the Cactus this next month and I had to make sure she had the best rifle possible when she goes, So I confess it was her rifle that I shot this past weekend. I know who is making the money in our house and its to cold outside to live.

Conditions at Visalia were those quick switchy kind that nobody likes to shoot in. It can catch you with your pants down quickly. In fact, I was wondering why Bubba Gump Libby was running around in his short, shorts > he was practicing his house boy routine. If you'all think Tom is going to let Carolyn have the gun he shot this weekend your sadly mistaken, well he might let her have the gun but not the barrel!!!!
Nice shooting Bubba!
It was a lot of fun but a little chilly, of course Tom kept us laughing! Jeff we missed you and Gary!

I must now tell the truth.
My first thought when I saw that Libby had won the two gun, I assumed it was Carolyn who had won. Of course Tom won; Carolyn wasn't there.
This may be the last time I tell the truth this week.

Hmm.
Francis this was the first time in many months and will probably be the last time this year. Dont bragg now.
