In two week ends, (April 19-20), we will be holding the annual Crawfish at Tomball Gun Club, North of Houston.
This is historically our Regions biggest match. It is the standard LV-HV Two Gun Format. For six years, The Tomball Gun Club has been so kind as to host this Match untill the Hub City Rifle Club of Lafayette La. can finally start holding the match again. Attendance has been running 50+, but this year, we would like to see at least 70.
Since the Tomball Gun Club is a non profit organization, we give the bulk of the money after expenses to the local Boy Scout Troupe, who serve as our Target and Clean Up Crew. This is historically over $3000, not bad for a week ends work.
We will once again be having our team competition as well. As in past years, the 4-man teams are chosen at random by drawing names out of a hat. In other words, when you sign up and pay your $20, you have no idea who your team members will be. It is strictly the luck of the draw.
Last year, we had close to 100 percent participation. This year, we want 100 percent. Since my Machine Shop puts up the initial $1000 to "sweeten the pot", we can have as much as $2500 to split among the teams. It is a darned good time.
Put this match on your agenda. Like I said, Tomball will continue holding The Crawfish untill Hub City is ready. Help us keep a great tradition in Benchrest alive.........jackie
