im new to the whole benchrest thing my local range holds light and heavy varmit mtches what would be good accuracy. Im shooting a 6mm br encore im still breaking it in but my average group is around .7 inches at 200 m is that good enough?

Could very well be good enough

One way to find out!

If it would shatter your life to lose don't go but your question indicates a wholesome curiosity that can only be satisfied on the firing line.

fair enough ill give it a try is there any sub classes under light varmint

?????

What is the name of your Range. Light Varmint and Heavy Varmint are Registered NBRSA and IBS Classes. Perhaps there are shooters who frequent this Forum who can help you out in person......jackie

As Wilber advised....

Your best answers will come when you go to your first match. Being a local match, it will probably be more informal and you'll have plenty of time to ask questions and see what the other shooters...are shooting. There are no sub classes for either "light varmint" or "heavy varmint".

Keep reloading,

I've had days...

...where a .7 at 200 woulda been super!

Attended a cold weather match in Reidsville, NC where the small group of the entire weekend was a .9xx. That was a tough match and I'm not talking about the competition. Had to shoot with a seater die in your aching hand cause it was stuck there. Almost everyone had a "snotcicle" outta their nose.

Here am I munching on a bit of supper (no head cheese though) & this comes along.

Wilbur,

I believe that this statement might just about fall into the too much information category.
