Hey Guys-
About 2 months ago I posted a question"Has anyone used Benchmark barrels in their centerfire rifle ? "
Well I got in touch with Kevin at Stockade Gunstocks and being reluctant
to try a "new" brand of barrel (VS hart,shilen,douglas) I shipped my
Sav model 10 with model 12 laminated stock in 308 to Kevin.About a week
later Kevin called me and asked me many questions about the project and
recomended a bedding job but I also asked for the Sharp shooter trigger and
the special accuracy barrel plate. About 3 weeks later
My rifle was UPS ed to my door
Man this rifle now shoots and feels like a custom made rifle
After a breif shoot one and clean for about 5 times then cleaning every
20 rounds the Sav/benchmark rifle is a tack driver !! She will shoot
1/4 inch 3 shot groups at 100 yards (using wind flags,harris bipod,eagle rear bag) during the last week she even treated me to some 0.25 to 0.35 inch 3 shot
groups at 200 yards The benchmark barrel is hand lapped and very
smooth inside . So far clean up is good and much better than the factory
barrel. My favorite loads for this rifle are the 168 MK and 175 MK,also
178 A max all over Varget and CCI Br2 win BR prepped cases ..
