Just an observation

I just received my Jan. issue of Precision Shooting and noticed all of the top competitors in the WBC matches used N133. I found it odd that there was no one using some of the less temperature sensitive powders like 8208 or LT32. These boys must have unlocked the secret to N133!

No Secret...

No secret to it...just read the flags right. These guys seem to able to do this quite often.

I think that the issue with 133 is not so much heat as the range that humidity is running in. For instance, in the state of Washington, I never hear of anyone complaining about 133. On the other hand, in more arid conditions, other powders may find favor. I believe that Bart has said that he has both LT32 and 133 with him when he goes to matches, and decides which to use based on testing.

That's assuming that equipment lists are accurate reports. What you see is not always what is. Just saying.

The article says, relative to shooters who fly in, that "[t]hey must ... use whatever powder is supplied by the host team." Given that, I suspect everyone shot the same powder.

All powders are subject time to some quirk, whether it's temperature, humidity, altitude, etc.

When you read a Match Report, and see that so and so won with a particular powder, glance down at last place and see if he was shooting the same thing.

I think

This is something you find out from a true mentor. Someone who is willing to share facts with you.

I consider myself an average to below average shooter. All I have been able to shoot since I have started this game is 133, XBR 8208, and lot 7 and 10 of LT-32.

What I will say is I trust 133 over the other 2.

Going up or down does not scare or bother me. I am though in my opinion starting to believe that 133 in humidity and LT in dry. That is just me. You use what works for you and your mindset.

The targets will tell.

I think when I shot with 2015 it was the worst I did that year. I struggled in the shoots I used it. I went back to 133 and things picked up. I believe the shoot that I stopped using it was when I won my first 2 gun.

I never had a lot of it. What I had left I sold off

I think about selling of the approx 70lbs of LT that I have but with the cost of 133 up here in Canada (close to about 400.00/8lb jug, I better hang on to it. Yes powder up here is crazy. The distributors and the retailers are giving it to us up the $$$ big time. Even the cheap, what used to be cheap 40grand Sierra Blitz Kings are outrageous. What do you pay for a box? How about 46-47.00 plus 13% sales tax..... F'n crazy.

Not sure how much longer I can play the game on a Blue collar wage..... I think this is another way of gun control......PRICE us out of the game..........

Hope all is well in Montana. Would love to get down there this year but the exchange is CRAZY. I paid 44.5 cents on the dollar Tuesday to go down and try our hand at the Power Ball. Ended up winning 7.00US out of 215.00 US...Oh well maybe next time. And I did not even want to bring it all to Canada. I would have spent some down states side for a few winter getaway homes.....lol

Calvin, if you come down for match I will give you enough n133 to shoot the weekend. Hope you can make it. With my cataracs I am easy to beat
but a few of the other " locals " will make it interesting. Roger

Don't have to worry about the supply of N133 in Oz any more. When whats out there is used up that's it. Noia the distributor in Oz isn't importing it any more. Bless their hearts. I have 7 bottles left. So I'll reserve it for barrels that won't eat anything else.
Andy.
PS will anyone else pick up the ball. Not likely.

Man I'm glad Precision Shooting is up and running again. Do you think they will send me the issues that they owed me when they shut down?
