A friend has a 30-06 ICL from Saturn Rifle Works, it's built on the P14/Model17 action (I don't know the difference) and seems all original, NRA Good in my initial assessment. Once I take it apart and compare the bluing it may make NRA Very Good.

He wants me to do some work on it (he wants a composite stock, go figger) and I'm reluctant to say the least. Or he may sell it "if he can get enough for a newer rifle with composite stock"

A cursory innernet search finds very little by way of 'For Sale' comps...... does anyone know of an organisation or group of collectors where this may be of some value?

I found one on the net for $450 with scope and composite stock; but it had been rechamber twice.

Most likely the restocking will cost more than the value of the rifle. However if it were mine and I liked the way it shoots, I'd pay the costs of restocking. Some of us are not logical when it come to spending money on rifles:)=

Old odd ball chambered rifles even of great quality seem to be DOA.

ICL the increased capacity load of these 45 degree chambered rifles may or may not increase the velocity; however the quality of the work should be excellent.

Best wishes

As I recall, that rifle is guaranteed to hold a 2-inch group at 1000 yards. French Foreign Legion snipers would purchase through Arnold and I think the cheapest gun he put out was $3,500. You pretty much have a gold mine in your hands. Those rifles are legends and Arnold’s son John sold everything after he died in the nineties. You could just look for a long range competition shoot and try offering it up that way or put it on eBay with a $7,500 minimum bid.

It sounds to me like an attempt at humor, and I have to admit it did make me smile.

Perhaps it would have been more effective if posted on April 1st. LOL
