Jackie,
If you come to the Buffalo in Midland, could you bring a Leupold BR 36 flat spring? My scopes are not the "D" series. I figured you may have a few laying around since you have frozen some scopes. That is if you didn't pitch them. If you saw the modifications to the BR 36 I posted earlier, you will notice that I still use the flat spring for tracking, but the posi-lock tightens down on the spring where the hole is in the end. This has worked out great. Here is the reason I need another flat spring. The first time I posi-locked one about 13 years ago, I did not use the spring. I just used the posi-lock with a polymer tip to push against the erector tube. While this works, you have no tracking, and I have to replace the polymer tip about every four years.
If anyone else is going to be at the Buffalo, you might also bring a flat spring if you have one laying around after freezing a scope. Just remember it is not for a "D" series. And if you're like me, you might want to throw it in with your reloading stuff as soon as possible. I just tend to forget things.
Thanks,
Michael
