It looks like all out war!

It seems that my ISP and Yahoo are at odds . . . anyone trying to contact me via e-mail, and not receiving a prompt reply, should call (between 6:00 and 8:00 PM CENTRAL time) - especially if your provider is YAHOO . . a HIGH percentage of my replies are being returned as not deliverable.  The contact info is on my web-site. It'll be "all better" once the govymint gets "net neutrality" then nobody will be able to get online.

your yahoo bill again, eh ? :D

Thank goodness, I don't have YAHOO service . . . mine is MUCH worse!
Small town, mid-west . . we only got DSL a little less than 12 months ago! I've had this problem before - maybe one of my local peers sending out too much spam, so Yahoo gets peaved ??:( RG

Randy, I've had the same problems with e-mail addresses from yahoo, hotmail and others. They are all trying to prevent spam from getting through their servers much to the detriment of legitimate e-mail. It's frustrating in the least.

I have the same problem with my server Starband. Yahoo, hot mail, msn, and others will not accept Starband emails. A spammer came on with an announcement that we need to give our passwords and names to correct starband problems. A lot of fools did it and they got on their address books and flooded people with spam. I had to get a separate yahoo email account to be able to stay in touch with some of my friends.

All the Bellsouth server business went to Yahoo some time back. I've had nothing but troubles logging onto the internet since the changeover. Just yesterday I went onto the main AT&T Yahoo site and checked my email instead of just using my regular Outlook Express. I discovered a ton of emails that had been tagged as spam which I didn't wish to be. I had even missed a reply to a question about an order from Shilen which I though was just a slow response on their part. My opinion of Yahoo at this point isn't the greatest.

Yep!

It's the same here. I had SW Bell, then SBC, then AT&T after SBC bought a name -- same old lousy service, just different names. I gave up on them back when their internet access was SBCGlobal. I'm convinced they either gave away, sold, or allowed a couple of my email addresses to be stolen. I was flooded with spam.

I registered my own domain for a few $$ a year and all our email goes thru the domain server(s) hosting my domain name. That way, no BS filtering or other games w/SW Bell - SBC - AT&T. My DSL is still w/AT&T but my email does not touch their servers.

Problem solved.

I've got several friends who have one ISP, and since if something that comes to me that I think they might find interesting (or want to harass them with) I send it to a whole pack of people. Every so often this one ISP decides that I'm sending spam and blocks me. Then they seem to forget and I'm good to go again.

Why can't these geniuses allow the person receiving the e-mails to determine what's spam and what's not?

Ask your provider if they have this assistance for you?

Seven days in a week I might get 3 or 4 spams per week. BEFORE USING YAHOO I GOT 7 OR 8 PER DAY, Gee I miss Yahoo:D I do not like that feature with Yahoo, I have been off of Yahoo for about 5 or 6 years now and have not missed it one bit.

Contact your Internet provider and see if they have a trap for e-mail as a service, it sure saves a lot of trouble, does not make it to your e-mail account unless you allow it to.
