Is Amazon safe?

The Weaver T-36 I want is cheapest on Amazon.
I´m not in the US so my options are limited to retailers.
Question is: Can I be sure that scopes on Amazon are not fake?

If it comes in the sealed Weaver Box, and the paper work inside is correct, it should be legit.

Question. Why would someone manufacture and sell a counterfeit Weaver?

You see a lot of counterfeit Rolex Watches. How many counterfeit Timexes have you seen.
 
Well people do all kinds of things and the chinese fake anything.
But to see the box I´ll have to order it....

Just thinking.

Saw a lot of counterfeit Carhartt T-shirts on Amazon. Many reviewers reported that the Carhartt logo was a jpeg image that was silk screened on the shirt.
 
Amazon has had a lot of counterfeits (mostly from "affiliate sellers") - if it says "Ships from, and sold by Amazon" it's probably safe. Otherwise you take your chances, but regardless, if you get a phony Amazon will refund / replace with no problem. So in the end you're safe.
