IBS 50/50 target question

Background:

My Club shoots an "Old Farts" match each Thursday morning. We normally shoot the Mini-Palma target the 1st and 3rd Thursdays at 100 yards ( http://bentongunclub.org/smf/index.php?board=36.0). On the 2nd and 4th Thursdays we shoot 1/5th scale silhouettes from 100 (chickens) to 175 yards (rams) in 25 yard increments ( http://bentongunclub.org/smf/index.php?board=39.0 ).

The competition is shot from the bench, but no one piece rests are allowed.

Question:

I just bought some IBS 50 yard targets for us to shoot at 50 yards to break up the same old routine each match. I have shot 6 of these targets and have not dropped a point yet and am averaging 14X's. I AM NOT THAT GOOD A BR SHOT!

I shoot barreled barrelled SUHL smithed by Butch Hongisto with a 36X Weaver and two piece bags. Admittedly I am using Harrell tuner and a J&J Slide and have been testing a LOT of settings to get the best one. My gun is averaging .207" CTC with Eley Pistol Xtra at 50 yards.

I have been scoring "best edge". What am I do incorrectly in scoring these targets?

The IBS targets have a GENEROUS 10 ring compaired to modern targets. I found a few of the IBS targets the other day. We use to use them at club matches we ran back in the late 90's.

Did you mean IBS or was that a mistake? Your title says IR 50/50.

The 10 ring on an IR50/50 is 1/2 the size of the IBS target (.5" IBS vs .25" IR50/50). The IBS target is good for decent factory rifles or entry level BR rigs but are just not challenging enough for good equipment/shooters.

Try a USBR target that has a ten ring of 0.10" which is a lot smaller then the IR50/50 which is 0.25". Best edge scoring. You have to shoot out the 10 ring for a x. By the way take along tissues it's been known to make some men cry after they can't 250's anymore. If you do shoot a 250 at 50 yds join the PSL Your in that league.

Thanks guys, that explains the scores.

And I change the title to IBS targets
