I just purchased a PTG removable pilot reamer in .25 BR with a .281 neck and .200 free bore. My question is.... Will this reamer cut a chamber that will work for the Berger 115gr VLD's?

My reamer for the 257TED has .060 and it works very well for the 110 and 88 BIB's which have 10 OG.
I am wondering how near the mouth the boattail will have to sit to get those bullets to touch the lands?
The BIBS have a 10 OG and if I used a .200 freebore it would be very dificult.

For me, the ideal way to order any reamer when the length of bullet to be used is in question, is to order the reamer with minimal freebore length, say .020" in order to gaurantee good obturation, and then a throating reamer that will allow for the cutting of an optimal freebore that will put the shank end of the bullet right in the middle of the case neck or where ever I want it to suit my needs. Throating reamer only costs and extra couple of dollars and can be used for any future cartidges in the same bore dia. class..............Don

I recently

had the freebore taken out of a reamer I bought used. They only charged $25.00 delivered back to me. I am thinking .200 is too much ans I would not want mine to have that much.

Very simple indeed

make up a dummy round with the bullet seated as you think you want it
send it to your favorite reamer grinder,,, They can make short work out
of what you can only guess at
