I Need Offset Scope Rings Due To Bad Neck

Does anyone know where I might get a set of offset scope rings to bring the scope closer to my eye?

After 2 neck surgerys one of which fused 3 vertebrae I still have a very bad neck.

Is there such a thing to be had?

Thanks,
Russell B.

Rings/Bases

Wally Hart has an offset base that allows you to move the scope left or right.
I had an eye injury and while the eye recovers I use that offset mount which allows me to shoot right handed but use my left eye to look thru the scope.
Best part is it took no real effort to get used to.

Thanks Paul.

How can I get in touch with Wally Hart?

Do you think you gave up anything in accuracy using the offset?

If you go to this site's Home page and click on Complete rifles you will see the listing for R W Hart. Click on it and you will get to his site and online sales data.
If you call speak to Bobby. He is into the various ranges and can help--tell him I sent you.Personally I shoot benchrest so it works for me at 1-200 yds.
I belive on long range Varmint targets it might be a learning experience.

BoBBy will help--when he heard of my injury he sent me one immediately and for me it meant that I could enjoy shooting again. Hope it works out for you.

I use one that fit's on Weaver Bases, and offsets the scope to the left. I shot right handed, using my left eye. If you use it to offset to the right, it could interfere with the right loading and ejection port. Of course the opposite is true with left port actions.

Russell, please keep us all informed of your results. There is a shooter at the Canastota club with a similar problem. He has to set up with a real low stool and his scope back on the rifle as far as he can get it. It's quite an awkward situation and we don't know how to help him. Thanks

Joel,
I'm calling hart this am to get some answers and if I believe it might help I am having it overnited and may try to use it at New Braunfels this weekend???

I think it will be awkward but worth trying/getting used to.

I,ll let you know.

Barnabus,

My current need is for my stolle panda action which has a very diff scope mount system than remys etc so not sure how I could make it work.

I would probably have to mount an adapter to my existing rail in order to mount the weaver base. Since excessive weight is an issue to keep the rifle system under 10.5 pounds, I'll give it some thought.

Thanks for the offer,
Russell B

Ron Hoehn [ and others I am sure ] offers 'scope riser blocks' for the BR style dovetail mounts. The scope would still be centered over the bore but just up high. Maybe even use two sets of the riser blocks so you could have an erect head posture.

I too have some neck issues but at this time am still able to address the rifle ok. I just pay for it the next day or two after a match :(

OK, here's what I know so far.

I called Hart. The product that I would be interested in offsets the center line of the scope 2 1/4 inches to the rt or left, will fasten onto my Kelby action but my new mount rail (the extended part) is Weaver style so I would need new rings.

The new base alone will present a weight problem for my rifle and I don't know how much weight diff rings would add. That is even with my rifle stripped of everything I can strip. I'm only talking a couple of ounces over 10 1/2 pounds. (not taking into account possiple heavier rings???).

Bottom line is it can be made to work buy reducing barrel lenght a small amount.

This is something I will persue in the future, just not this week.

Thanks for the pics Fred.

CRB, actually raising the scope might help. I haddn't thougt about that.

Allen Hall

Call Allen Hall, http://www.hallmfg.com/, He makes a set of offset risers that fits the davidson base. They are available in one and two screw style. I have been using them for about 3 years. Work great.

I ordered a set of "riser blocks" from Allen Hall.

I can make weight with them. He suggested I use loctite on the rails to insure no slipage.

Probable won't get them put on for a week or two but I'll report back with I have performance info.

Thanks again for all the input.
