Had another nice Match at Tomball this morning, hot and humid, but we had 30 shooters come out and sweat it out, and to see Husband and Wife Eddy and Zana Carter end up in a 20x tie in the Benchrest Class, with Eddie taking the tie breaker.

Rumor has it that Eddie will be sleeping on the couch untill our next match in October.:D

Anyway, thanks to all the shooters who support this Match, and thanks to the Tomball Gun Club for allowing us to use the facility.

Here are the results.

Factory Class:
Russel Mathews.......247 7x (AR-15)
Jay Holtore.............239 3x
Brad Hodges...........228 4x

Modified Class:
Larry Saavendra.....250 15x
Mike Wall..............250 10x
Jay Holtore............246 7x

Benchrest Class:
Eddie Carter..........250 20x
Zana Carter..........250 20x
Nick Marino...........250 18x
Ron Parker............250 17x

jackie,
i think you can get in trouble for "mentioning" that an ar15 was used in a br match...
i have been told that unless one places restrictive rules on them that will kill the br game.
the big leagues require them to keep thier brass on thier own bench..a rule that does not apply to bolt guns....hmmmm

just a warning...like next time call it a semi sporter..but no referrals to "ar"
i'd hate to see you snubbed buy "real" BENCHREST shooters......

mike,

You consider yourself WAY too seriously. Those who know the difference make NO consideration to an AR in Factory. Difference is they do not try to say they are BR, end all, be all. There are Many really good AR shooters. But most know they are NOT BR shooters. Apples VS Pineapples.

no you missed the point...
when they setup( to lose) the ar class a couple of years back..( not this club class)..
they insisted on a stupid rule..that a rifle that is designed to auto eject brass..away from the shooter, when used in competition..the rifles brass could not leave the shooters bench...a rule bolt gunners do not have to comply with.....that was the point.......

my rifles are designed to compete with BENCHREST rifles.....
