This tuner stuff is starting to sink in... maybe it is sinking in rite -maybe it is sinking in wrong it's too early to tell.
I don't own a "Hummer" barrel but here are my thoughts today:

In the past i have read about "Hummer Barrels"....... i have always wondered how they were lapped, how many groves ect, ect, ect....

Today i'm thinking more than anything else- maybe it's the outside that makes a barrel a hummer??????????? joe:D

My current theory is that Hummers are so rare because they are "defective"...but "defective" in a very particular and specific fashion - one that causes them to "droop" into a straighter bore.

Vibe that sounds like a very good theory i have never thought of.

My current thinking is a "hummer" may have a natural accidental cycle rate that allows the greatest velocity spread at 50 yards with no additional help.

Today i can see a tuner is nothing but a tunable device that can add length to a barrel that is too short to be a "hummer". joe:D

I recently talked to a Smith who said that he had looked inside a barrel that had won a ton of stuff and was still shooting competatively with the first 4" of rifling GONE in it. This might be proof of a hummer. I think it may be possable to quantify what makes Hummers Hummers but I don't think anyone has tried to do it yet.

jgee, i think you are exactly right when you say
