How much does cold temperatures...

Hello Brian:

That match was held on August 8, 2005. Butch went home with an order for three rifles. Leo Hedger bought a used Finish Valmet from him with a Jewel trigger and a purple McMillan stock. Bill Jones and I ordered a couple of Texas Turbos, with Border barrels. Bill got a jewel trigger on his. I had to be different: Asked for a Kelbly trigger on my Turbo. Both stocks were blue and white McMillans.

Joe, thanks for the info, Butch is building a rifle for me at the moment. Adding three years onto the photo he is still younger than I thought - although how you judge a mans age by email I don't know :D

I met Butch 2 1/2 years ago and he looked 10 years older than that picture then. Maybe the ride on the Harley made him look younger.

Hey Mr. Wright . . .

The weatherman now sez the temperature on Sunday will be all the way up to 68 degrees. The polar bears have started to migrate north and you won't have to worry about those cold U.P. temperature affecting your Remington/Calfee's accuracy.

You probably won't have to worry about competition from any of us Yoopers either. None of us have had any practice since last October. I'll be sighting in my new Hall/Davis Sunday morning. Got it before Christmas, but just put the T-36 on it last week.

October, Eh?

It's been at least that long for me.

I'm noting that, although we are probably not very well practiced, shooting-wise, we seem to be in mid-season form re: excuses.:)

See you tonight.

Dick

Trolls in da U.P.

Sure, Patriot: We let dem Trolls shoot UP here. In fact we roll out da red carpet for em! After ya get over da way they look, ya find out they is actually perdy nice guys. Da walk kind'a funny wit der little short legs. But: after ya get ta know em, ya get use to da green skin and da warts on der noses.

MR. WRIGHT: You ain't shot since October either? Ho Boy: Level playing field.

Mr. Frosty . . . :)

Monday I would like to see Joe post a pic of the pile of crab leg shells he and the Wrights generate at the casino. My wife and I were invited to join them but we will just shoot this time. Maybe next time for the crab legs that Joe gets from the bottom of the Poe Lock (and that is not a racial slur).

For the shoot we will settle for Kentucky Fried.

Ok . . .

I'll bring my camera tonight.

Bill Jones and his wife Betty are going to be there too.

The Poe Lock is not Polish . . .

It is one of the four locks at Sault Ste. Marie that lift and lower the large ore carries over the 21 foot drop from Lake Superior to Lake Huron. The locks are the busiest in the world. About 12,000 ships path through here each year. And the U.P. year is only 9 month long. That river is froze solid for the other 3 months. Big tourist attraction when it's warm up here!

I live 5 miles down river from the locks, on the shore of the St. Marys River. The ice has melted and the ore carriers are running up and down the river now.
