How do you clean your Noodle?

I have a MT Guns Martini Mk III with a Harrel tuner and a J&J short slide. I have been taking the slide off the tuner after each range session to clean all the residue out as well as getting access to the Harrel tuner to clean it. I am VERY happy with the combination and the gun is shooting better that ever has. What I am most impressed with is how it has shot ammo that in the past would have one round from a group drop low and has stopped this.

I am concerned about getting everything back to the same "tune" after cleaning and reassembly.

What are you doing to keep your noodles clean and keep your same "tune"?

Try a bottle brush. That's what I used to use. Works great .

Are you leaving your slide/boodle on the gun and not removing it to clean? Sounds as if you are.

Are there any problems/concerns about the brush center causing crown wear/problems?

Does it clean the muzzle face/crown area which is WAY down inside from the front of the slide/noodle?

I'm just full of questions.............. or something else..........................

Most guys will unscrew it from thier tuner to clean it and put it back on. That does not help if you think you need to clean the outside slider ring. I would probably take a marker and mark its position to put it exactly back including lock screw location.

But a bottle brush with a cloth around it is mostly what I have seen used to clean the inside.

I use a toothbrush with an old t-shirt wrapped around it after every match. Once in a while, I blow out the holes and the interior with brake cleaner.
Works well. Stays clean.
But, Iv'e always wondered if it makes any difference to the tune of the rifle if I screw the noodle back on with a slightly different compression on the rubber o-ring, (and therefore a slightly different longitudinal location of the noodle on the tuner.)
 
I know this isnt any kind of real answer but... that just sounds sooooo wrong....

I use a piece of PVC pipe. Cut it to the length you need, including enough to hang onto and I make 2 slots in one end with my metal cutting blade. Once I have my slots cut at one end, I use some heavy duty paper towels (rags in a box) and slide a piece down into the slots, and while pushing the rag wrapped PVC down into the noodle, I twist the PVC so the rag wraps around the pipe. You can put any cleaner you want to on the rag, and it cleans the noodle real good. DJB in Wi
 
The easiest way to clean them is a a bottle brush a light rag and lighter fluid or your bore cleaner. I always take the tube off the tuner to clean. I NEVER take the ring off, there is no reason to, you will scratch the tube and it is almost impossible to get in the same position. Just snug the slider or noodle up each time you put it on, it will shoot the same each time.
