Congrats!

Doug that's some shooting machine you built! Dave I see your feeling much better. Mitch a little more tuning and it's back to the workbench for Doug, HeHeHe! Paul another great match I see. Sorry I wasn't there to witness it firsthand but after that great shooting maybe the Archery course is in my future? Great shooting all around gents, see you Dec. 5th.

Congratulations to Doug Shea on some spectacular shooting last Saturday! Now, being a man of few words :D :D I'm going to add a bit more to this story, so please bear with me.

Doug started out his day by shooting back-to-back 249's, which in and of itself was great, and that was after shooting an Agg of 750 at our last Indoor match. But, that's only the obvious part of the story.

Doug and I were both shooting on the second relay side-by-side, so we were down range collecting our targets together when, after shooting his second target, the one with 4 X's, Doug turns to me and says how he had changed pellet lots going from one sleeve to the next (a sleeve is the equivalent of a case for you rimfire shooters) midway through the target, and it appeared to not be for the better. So, what does he do? He proceeds to turn around and shoot a new WORLD RECORD SCORE OF 250-14X, then added to that by completely CLEANING an ARA Target by shooting the first 2500 that I have ever personally witnessed, with none of the shots, let me repeat myself, NONE of the shots needing any kind plugging!!!!!! Now, just to make comment, I did shoot ARA for three years in rimfire, so I've seen some pretty impressive targets shot by both of the Hadfields along with Todd Banks, Kevin Kunkle and several of the other top shooters. But, still, this was the one that blew my mind!

Oh, and did I mention the gun Doug used was a Theoben Rapid that Doug bought straight out of the box and has done 100% of the gunsmithing on himself?

Man, oh man, I really do love this Airgun game!

Dave, well put...
My congratulations to Doug as well, that was phenominal shooting...

But Dave is not telling the whole story, Dave finished 1 (one) point behind Doug as Dave shot a 250, a 249, and a 248 himself... That's mighty fine shooting in anyone's book...

Saturday at Holbrook was a great lot of fun and a great group of fellows to share enthusiasm with...

Happy Shooting Y'all,
Mitch & Shadow...
:)

Paul,
Thanks for sharing the photos, and Congrats to Doug with some outstanding shooting. Congrats to you Dave, and to the rest of you.

Mark, That is a slick looking USFT.

It's great to see the enthusiasm you all have, keep up the good work and good shooting to all.

Man of man you guys a cookin' -- congrats to Doug and Dave for pushing up the scores and showing what can be done.

So Doug my man, I think come Spring you need to be sporting a new .22 rf to make your mark in that game!!!!

Best,
Michael

Congratulations Doug, Dave, and Paul(only a couple of points behind on the agg!)You guys are getting pretty good over there at Holbrook! Still got my Rapid and hoping to make a couple of trips out to shoot at Holbrook this winter. Maybe now that RF season is over I'll take some time to tinker with the puff gun to see if I can run with you Big Dogs...the way you guys are tearing it up I'll probably wish I stayed under the porch;)

Mike,
I thought I did make my mark in the rimfire game...out in the 3-4-5 rings many times.
If you would stop bumping my bench and ejecting 12 ga hulls I could have hit the 6 ring with regularity.
I'll see you next year buddy and I'll have a bigger .22:D

Doug

Hey there Mr. Mike, let me throw that one right back at you. When are you gonna start blow'n air out of your stack rather than smoke? I'm telling ya, it's a blast! And, just think, with Paul around you won't even have to worry about buying a gun for the first few matches as he always brings an extra or two along, so you'd be set for a while...Dave

Wow - me thinks I need to pull my Gamo Shadow 1000 SuperDuper out of the what-do-I-do-with-this pile in the cellar and take on this challenge.

Doug, did you find my "bumpin the bench" a problem? I was trying to push them bullets up into the X.

Maybe next year guys. This year I need to restock my sporter, so I can get my scores up over 240. :D -- What I really want for Christmas is an Eck Turbo Sporter, but Santa sez, "In your dreams!!"

Keep it going Holbrook guys... you're showing what can be done with those beautiful rifles.

Best,
Michael
