Looking forward to it!

Thanks Paul,

I just finished getting everything ready and am hoping the Red Sox Parade doesn't cause too much of a travel nightmere between here and there - then there and here later on.

I'll be shooting my MPR @ 12ft/lbs.

Dave

Paul, I tried to email you but my mail is bouncing. I made a new transfer port for your Sumo. I will arrive early and fit it, if you wish. You should have the following benefits, better efficiency, lower noise, better consistency, and no more pellets falling into it.

Good choice Dave. I've been getting myself one of these:

An air Arms Pro Target (or more accurately an RWS CA100). Presently a 7.5ft/lb 10m rifle but soon to be 12ft/lb.

I do like a nice looking rifle and the MPR and Pro Target are certainly two of them.

Good luck to all tomorrow, I hope the weather is kind to you.

Brian,

I almost bought a Pro Target a few years back, and have been kicking myself ever since. The price was right and everything. But I was a fool, that's for sure. By the way, yours looks great!!!!

The gun I'm really hoping to get my hands on right now is one of the new AA FTP 900. But, it's a little pricey right as they're being offered at $2500.00, which is $500.00 more than the EV's were going for, plus there's a 2 month wait before they'll even be available. If I can sell one of my rimfires I'll place my order then, but not before. Or, maybe I should check out the RWS CA100 a little closer? Especially after seeing yours.

I reckon mines about a ’95 or ’98, but it’s had very little use and is in mint condition. It’s away getting a MK3 regulator fitted (designed by Joe Korick I understand), a full service and a couple of other mods, so hopefully it will be a shooter.

The FTP 900’s look nice, not sure they will be any better than a well sorted EV2 and by the sounds of things February is looking like the earliest they’ll hit the shops, at least it any quantity.

Is this a new model?

Or are they out of production?

Thanks,

Pete

Pete,

Both the Air Arms Pro Target and RWS CA100 were made back in the mid 90's, and were the predecessor to the EV-2. They're a tough find today as those who have them aren't quick to part with them.

Why is it that companies quit making things that are good? For me, two of the most important things with rifles are, 1. a GREAT trigger and 2. An action that opens long enough to be fed easily. The rest of it can be dealt with but those two basic items are a MUST, IMHO>

Some good pictures here that will let you see under the lid: http://www.airguns.budu.pl/showme2.php?str=arsenal_RWS_RWS-CA-100

The air is delivered directly in line with the rear of the pellet, something many believe Air Arms should have stuck with.

Brian,

Thanks for those great pictures. Now the challenge becomes finding one of these monsters over here that's still in decent to good shape. Of course, so long as the Pro Target is designed the same they still show up once in a Blue Moon.

Pete, if you find 2, let me know as I'll take one, and I'll do the same.
