The "Hog Shoot" WV State Championship is complete. Thanks to all the shooters who were able to make it to WV. The weather was great with some challenging winds both days. I hope everyone was able to get all the pork and other tastey foods they wanted. I want to make sure to thank all the people that worked preparing the food, running targets, and scoring the targets; all did a great job.

Paul,
Very good shooting but matches only shot in one country are national records, not world records.

Peter

Peter,

That would be a world record for IR50/50. There is no reason IR 50/50 has to be limited to the U.S.A. All a club has to do is meet the requirements and pay the sanctioning fee to Wilbur.

Good shooting all, wish we could have been there. Missed seeing everybody.

Ken & Cherie

Great shooting Harry, Paul, Jim, Greg, Bill, and all the rest of the winners. Those are some fine scores. Wish I could have made it to the match!
Well done Harry.

Ken

It's an IR50 national record no more, no less.
But if your world stops at the border, well maybe it is a world record.

Do you have any national records or are all records over there world records??

Peter

Great Match

Paul,

You and your crew put on a great event this weekend. The match was ran in a totally professional manner.

The shooting was great, the foods was great, and the company was even better.

If you haven't been to the WV Hog shoot, you need to put it on your list for next year.

Thanks to all.

It's the highest 50/50 score shot to date in the whole wide world...one could make a reasonable argument for the galaxy. Alternatively, a reasonable question would also be...Why not call it a galaxy record? All this and more could be hashed out for years.

Wilbur,
Under that criteria a few of us will need to upgrade our CV’s

These days we do have proper international matches so is it respectful to those who do have genuine world records, for some to claim national record as a world record?

Peter

Peter
Could you give us an accounting of the number of attendees at your so-called " proper international events". Are they held where ordinary people can attend without mortgaging their future? Are all comers welcome? Who or what is the sanctioning body?
May be just the view of some of us ugly Americans; but I think Wilbur could claim IR 50/50 to be an international activity with at least as much authority as what ever you are calling an international event. Do we have to post the rules in a multi-lingual format to qualify or is there some other criteria you prefer to impose. You are welcome to shoot for our World Records if you establish a sanctioned club and follow the rules of IR 50/50. Snobbery is not becoming to you.
Don

World Record as it applies to the International Rimfire 50 / 50 target and its sanctioning body.

And wilbur is right, it is the one IR target we know of in the world, and probably the galaxy, but if there is Copycat IR orginization over on that rock in the Epsilon Eridani system thats just plain coincidence.

Interesting exchange

Some see it one way, some another. We could call it "Highest score ever".

What exactly would be the criteria for a "world" record as you see it?

Peter,

I don't get what you don't understand. I don't believe Wilbur restricts the IR 50/50 to the United States. It's a format that's available to anyone....Worldwide....thus....it's a IR 50/50 world record. Or is it just a opinion based on "Since I don't compete in it....it can't be called that". Whaaaa

Great shoot, Paul. As always, a well run shoot with great food and nice people. Congratulations to the winners and to Harry on the world record.
Jim

Paul,
Thanks for a great weekend. Cyndi and I had a blast. I wish I had put on a better show but wait till next year! I would like to congratulate all of the winners. A lot of very nice folks shot some great targets in pretty tough conditions. Nice work to all. I really enjoyed the time to talk to people whom I admire an I do not to often get to spend much time with. Thanks for a wonderful shoot Leetown!

World Record, you bet!

I am sure if our Ozzy friends had seen Harry shoot those targets in the wind, they would know it was truely world class shooting. I doubt the likes has been seen in Ozzyland since Quigley left.;)

Mr pepper

Was nice enough to offer me his sporter sunday after mine was not working for some reason.. What a gun it is!!! I did not adjust the scope for my eye because i did not want to mess it up for jim .. But if i had, i think the posibilities were endless... Paul and leonard and crew ran a great match as always for the past seventeen years.. Thanks... Harry..:):):)

Congratulations to all our friends and their great shooting. Special congratulations to Harry, a new WORLD RECORD! The name of the game is INTERNATIONAL RIMFIRE 50/50...right? So World Record it is!
