Hi guys,
I was just doing that quick thread to introduce myself to the forum.
I have been interested into accurate rifle since the age of 15 when my Mum bought me The accurate rifle from Warren Page.
I am not a dedicated Bench rest shooter (well not yet), but love shooting small groups with anything.
I have been competing in F-class in Scotland when I used to live in Europe.
I have been living in New Zealand for the last 6 years where I carry on my passions (hunting, fishing, shooting and playing around with rifles).
I have acquired my knowledge through a lot of reading, and the contact of good people (Norman Clark in Rugby in England(the best gunsmith I know) and Dr Kolbe from Border-Barrels in Scotland) and of my dear Uncle who lives in Scotland and gave me the virus of most of my passions and let me played with all his rifles.
I look forward to share discussions with you guys, and learn a lot from you.

Nic

Well, drop me a mail when you are heading this way, and I will show you the local range and the local deer spots :)
And make sure you bring a rifle with you! NZ is the easiest country to get in with one if your intentions are lawfull.

Welcome. On Benchrest Central, you will find some pepper in the fly specks. Just remember there are a lot of the latter, too.

Welcome aboard. Anyone with an interest in accurate shooting is welcome here. Look forward to your comments.

Welcome to BR Central. You will find that their are some great people and great shooters in New Zealand, hopefully some will introduce themselves soon. I think Ian does a little rifle building if I remember right.

Hi JohnVM,
Yes I have noticed that mysterious Ian from Dunedin, the town with steepest street in the world.
I look forward to talk to him.

You will notice in the near future a lot of naive questions from me about br rigs. My interest is VFS in 30BR.
I try to do as much gunsmithing on my rifles as I can. And what I can not do I give it to a competent smith to do.

Many thanks for the warm welcome guys.
Nic

Hi FBecigneul,
Your name sounds French. Do you know the history of your ancestors or your name itself?
Dont worry I know how to avoid the Blanc in NZ, it gives me terrible head hacks.
Their beers and cheese are good , their lamb and beef exceptional and they even harvest the black truffle:
NZ is probably one of the nations that is catching up fast with France on the culinary perspective!
Right lets talk benchrest rather than food at the table.
Nic

Welcome Nic.
Thats the same book I read back in about 1979 and it got me hooked.
As I am sure you know things have changed a lot since that book was written but it was written in such a way as to be infectious.
The more times you read it the worse you will become infected.....
Have fun.
